Currently our shop located in Hawi, at the junction of Hwys 250 and 270. Both Hawi and Kapaau are a part of a district and community we call “Kohala”. North Kohala, our actual district name, contains the burgeoning artists’ community in which I live. It is a lovely historic area reknown as King Kamehameha’s birthplace. The loop drive is a great day trip from any Kona Coast hotel. You really must drive out to Pololu Lookout. It’s the “end of the road” and the lush winding drive takes you to a beautiful valley overlook with a very black sand beach. Please do not attempt to swim there! Then you can easily return on the mountain road (250) to Waimea that exhibits expansive views of the coast. Just pick up a BIG ISLAND magazine guide to dining art and shopping and you’re off for a fabulous day’s experience.
